This Monday finds me trying to meet the April 1 deadline for my March UFO. I have the sashing and cornerstones ready to sew on the Monster Quilt. After that, there are 5 more borders to cut and sew on. Two of the borders are half square triangles that will have to be sewn together. After eight years, it will be great to have this quilt finished!

Sunday Stash Report March 27, 2011
This week finds me with nothing purchased and nothing used. Hope to change the used number by the end of next week with the completion of the Monster Quilt. Have just about finished all the zig-zagging and tying off all the threads- thanks to my buddy Sandi over at Kwiltnkats for helping me with that part. Will keep you all posted on my progress.
Sandi will also be hosting a quilt a long over at Quiltmaker Magazine, which kicks off on March 29. Check out her page and see if it is something that you might want to join. The pattern is called Secret Window and is by Debbie Caffery and is a three part Mystery Quilt. It should be a lot of fun and if you have never tried a Mystery Quilt, I highly recommend it.

Design Wall Monday March 21, 2011
Happy Monday All!
This week finds me zig zagging away on the Monster Blocks-need to finish this one by the end of March.
Also on my design wall is a Block of the Month by Sharyn Craig and Cozy Quilt Shop. It was offered in three colorways: Brights, Red/Green, and Red/White/Blue. It started in January, and as usual, I am already behind! I have all three of the blocks cut out and just have to sew them together but, I am still playing around with the color placement.
Block 1: Hammer and Nails |
Block 2: Skylights |
Block 3: Picture Window |
Let me know what you think!

Sunday Stash Report March 20, 2011
This week, while in Mammoth, I finished up the Star Struck Quilt that was started in a Bonnie Hunter work shop. I used up a lot of my red/black/neutral 2.5 inch strips for this one. It was nice to make a dent in the stash!
The borders are from Pat Speths Nickle Quilts and Borders book and also used 2.5 inch strips. This has become one of my favorite books, as there are many different border treatments that are simple to make and add a unique finish to a quilt.
Now on to getting the Monster Quilt complete!

Design Wall Monday March 14, 2011
Greetings from Mammoth, California!
This week finds me in Mammoth for some skiing, relaxing, and a little sewing. I always bring along my Janome, to get a little sewing in during bad weather. Today may be the perfect day as snow and wind are predicted.
I will be working on my Star Struck quilt, which was started in a Bonnie Hunter Workshop at Road to California in January. I have most of the blocks finished, just need to get them all sewn together, and decide on a border treatment. I have one picked out from Pat Speth's book, "Nickle Quilts and Borders". Hope to get this top completed this week.
Don't forget to check out all the other great things that are happening on Design Wall Monday. Find it all here at Patchwork Times.

Happy Monday All!
This week I am working on my Monster Quilt, which is my March UFO. Below are eight of the nine cute little guys that make up this quilt. I will be zig zaging around all the edges of the applique before sewing them all together. I have all the sashing and cornerstones ready to go, and have started piecing the half square triangles that make up two of the six borders. This will definitely take the month to finish and I am still trying to get Roll Roll Cotton Boll off the floor- have all the blocks together, just need to add the borders. Wish me luck!

Sunday Stash Report March 6, 2011
Yesterday was the first day for our San Diego Quilt Run. There were 16 shops involved and it runs from March 6-13th. Not certain if I will make it to all the shops, but I am sure going to try. I met up with my quilting buddies at Memory Lane Quilt Shop in Santee. Then we were off to Rosies, one of San Diego's largest Quilt Shops and a must see if you are ever in the area. We also hit The Country Loft and Cozy's.
That was all for me for the first day- Will try to hit a the rest during the week. I was very good and only purchased 1 yard total. Unfortunately I have nothing used this week. :(

Also worked on the blocks for Sunshine Quilt Guild. We have a block each month that we make and then a winner is drawn and they get to take all the blocks home. This month it is a block called Bullseye. The winner cuts the blocks into quarters and sews them back together. It should be a fun quilt when it is all finished. My Blocks are below.
