This year marks the 35th Anniversary of the
San Diego Quilt Show, which opened Wednesday Night, downtown at the Convention Center. It runs through Sept 3. I always look forward to this show, with many beautiful quilts on display, and lot's of vendors to shop.
This year the guest artist is none other that Edyta Sitar from
Laundry Basket Quilts. While I was unable to go on Preview Night this year to see her presentation, I did stop by her booth to see her amazing quilts, and hear a mini presentation on her entry into quilting where she talked about some of her beautiful quilts. Edyta also gave a demo, using her templates and technique on making a compass blocks. It was super easy and with great results. Her quilts were amazing, using lots of scraps, and I loved them all!

ReplyDeleteEdyta is surely a talented quilter and designer. How I'd love to see her show in San Diego, but now is not a good time. I love her quilt titled "Twist & Shout". I'm always drawn to those pinwheels!
ReplyDeleteI love Edyta's designs! Sugar Shack and Dresden Bloom are among my favorites ad. I love her Friendship Triangles book!!
ReplyDeleteI just love any of Edyta's quilts that use her blue barn fabric line whether stars, baskets or whatever.
ReplyDeleteEvery one is superb, but " Aloha" is my choice, I love the way the pattern shows off the fabric so well.Times like this I so wish I lived up North, instead of down here in New Zealand. Oh well, dreams are free.
ReplyDeleteI took a look at her patterns. Eldon jumped right out to me.
ReplyDeleteI can't just pick one of Edyta's quilts,
