This week I will be finishing up Unity and working on binding a few of my quilts that I have finally been able to quilt.  Have some hand sewing to do with some applique blocks that I am working on.

The first is from Ella Marie Deacon Quilt. Have a lot of catching up to do, on this block of the month.

Sunday Stash Report

I have been in a little of a sewing slump. Was hoping to have Unity finished this week, but that did not happen. I was able to get step 7 completed, and was going to call it finished there. But I have now decided to put the last two rows of star blocks on to make it fit the daybed in one of my guest rooms.

So this week I will be working of the star blocks for the top and bottom and then it will be done and ready to quilt.

No changes to the stash, but the quilt stores are starting to open again, so may need to do some shopping!

Design Wall Monday

The last clue for Unity posted today! As I mentioned in yesterday's post, Unity has been taking up much of my sewing time, so have not been able to get to the Blue/white mystery quilt. With the last clue posted today on Bonnie Hunter's Blog, I hope to have this project completed this week.

Sunday Stash Report

Wow, May is flying by and things here in Arizona are getting back to a little bit of normal, with lots of precautions in place. This past week we were able to go out to lunch (we sat outside with tables far apart) and even get a haircut ( with masks and appointment only). It was super nice to finally get my hair cut!

No changes in the stash this week. Unity has been taken up most of my sewing time, along with getting a couple of quilts quilted. More on Unity tomorrow. Today I am also bringing out all the Red/White/Blue quilts in honor of Memorial Day next weekend. They will stay up until sometime in August/Septemter when I switch to fall. Below are a few of my favorites.

Design Wall Monday

Happy Monday!

This week on the Design Wall is Blue Mystery Quilt by Pat Yamin. I started this quilt back in January in a class at Road to Ca quilt show and it is one of my UFO's for this year.  I was able to complete 4 of the 15 rows in class. The best thing about this project is that all the pieces are laser cut, so it is just sewing that needs to be done!

I will also be working on Unity this week, with rounds 5 and 6 still needing to be finished. All the pieces are cut out and ready to sew together. Round #7 releases today, so I am playing catch up. Have a great rest of the week and check back to see my progress.

Also completed this week was the Block of the Month for Sunrise Stitchers. Even though we cannot meet in person, we are still completeing out Block of the Month, and on our usual Tuesday meeting day, we are having an email meeting. This is where we all check in to see how everyone is doing, share our projects, our UFO's and the BOM if completed. This coming Tuesday is our "meeting" day. I decided to make two blocks for the drawing.

Design Wall Monday

Happy Monday and the day before Cinco de Mayo!
I feel a finish getting closer- Variegated Threads is in blocks on the wall. Now to sewing the rows together, and a border to put on. This should be done this week, then I am off to finish up my week 5 of Unity and start on week 6, which is a lot of half square triangles.

I will also be working on binding this week. I finally made the plunge and put the binding on my Dear Jane quilt. This has been sitting for awhile as I was a little nervous tackling the scalloped border binding. Have two more quilts in the binding que also.

This week our Governor has opened up more businesses and I might even be able to go and get a haircut! Will wait to see what opens on Friday before I make an appointment.  Hope you are seeing some easing up of restrictions where you are. Enjoy your week!

Finishes are on the horizon! I am still working on Bonnnie Hunter Mystery quilt, Unity, and also Variegated Threads by Laundryf basket Quilts. Have the 4th row of Unity sewn on, but still working on row 5 which are flying geese. Tomorrow will be clue 6 so I need to get busy on this one!

Also finished for April were my 4 blocks for the Heart & Hand group. These are so cute and fun to make.

Added were more of the grey fabrics needed for Unity. I was lucky enough to find them on Etsy, as they were not to be found at my ususal shopping places on the internet.
