Sunday Stash Report

We finally had a bit of much needed rain here in AZ on Friday which set us up for this beautiful sunset. This is looking northwest from our backyard with a silouette of one of the Saguaro Cactus that are just beyond our fence.

On to the Stash report, with a couple of finishes this week. First off Super Simple Squares by Missouri Star Quilts. This quilt takes 3- 5"charm packs, background and border. Very easy to make, and I can see making it a bit smaller as a baby quilt.

Super Simple Squares

I have been on a patriotic kick this month with several red/white/blue finishes. Below is a pattern from Primitive Gatherings that uses 2.5" squares and a small tumbler template. The original had no borders, but I needed it a little larger for our entry way table.

As we approach the half way point for the year, usage is getting better. Nothing added this week. Check back tomorrow to see my progress on the Jelly Roll Dresden.

Used this week: 13.5 yards
Used YTD: 117 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards
Purchased YTD:  60.5 yards.

Design Wall Monday

On the wall this week is Super Simple Squares. Will be sewing rows together and then borders.  Hope to finish this one up, and then work on the Jelly Roll Dresden, my UFO for July.

The JRD has 240 blades and I am about halfway through making them. This project has been going with me to my Tuesday Sewing Group. Hope to get all the blades finished and start on blocks later this week.

Hope you have some fun projects that you are working on this week. Happy Sewing!

Sunday Stash Report

Last week was spent with family in Arnold, CA. I arrived from AZ in time for the Gov. of CA to shut down the state again. Luckliy this did not affect our time together and we were able to visit Big Trees park and Beaver Creek above.

Nothing finished the last two weeks, but did have an add of the cute pumpkin runner kit below. This was purchased on our way home from Pinetop at a quilt shop in Payson called The Copper Needle.  A super nice shop with mostly modern fabrics. This is where I found the kit below-cute pumpkin table runner.

Also some great neutrals below, for my stash.

I did have one very small finish- a block for Sunrise Stitchers virtual meeting on July 12. Unfortunately I was unable to attend this month and hopefully we will actually get to meet in August or September.

Updated numbers for the week:

Used this week:  0 yards
Used YTD:  103.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 13 yards
Purchased YTD:  60.5 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD:  43.0 yards.

Have a great week!

Design Wall Monday

With a finish last week, I am working on not one but two new projects this week. First up is Simple Squares by Missiouri Star Qults. Another easy, patrotic quilt from stuff in my stash! Here is where I am so far.

I am still moving squares around to try to balance out all the colors.

Next up is Anelie Belden's Jelly Roll Dresden, a class started at Road to CA quilt show. This is one of the layouts below, but there are many ways you can finish up this quilt

These are my cut out blades, there are over 200 blades that are needed for this quilt. I chose a pink jelly roll, and background that I already had in my stash.

There will be more cutting and sewing going on this week. We are will be off to Pinetop on Thursday/Friday to beat the heat this week- temps will be around 105. Not sure how much I will get completed this week, but hope to make a little progress.

Have a great week and stay cool!

Sunday Stash Report

Happy day after the 4th of July. Hopefull you all found a way to celebrate our national birthday. We had a quiet fourth, with a hike in the morning and barbequing in the afternoon. Watched fireworks on TV (Macy's) and it was quite spectacular, though not as good as in person. Maybe next year...

Finished this week was Summer Stars by Missouri Star Quilts. A very fun easy quilt that takes a jelly roll and some background. You can find the pattern and tutorial here.

Summer Stars

Also completed were my June blocks for Heart and Hand Applique. These are fun little applique blocks that finish at 4.5".

Next up will be another Missouri Star pattern called Super Simple Squares, also in patrotic colors. I have been in a Patriotic bend this past month and have a few more Red/White/Blue quilts from my UFO's to complete.
