This week will be finishing up Dawns Early Light with border blocks done, and sewing them into the four border sections.

Along with this I hope to get the Pumpkin Table Runner completed and ready to quilt. Will keep up the pumpkin themed quilts in my house until Thanksgiving, so will be fun to get this one done and out on the dining room table.

Two weeks gone by and still no change in the stash. Nothing finished and nothing added, but I am getting closer. String blocks are done and cut into triangles with all the papers removed. This is a my chore that I do while watching TV.
Next up is sewing them back together with a red strip in the center. Then I am on my way to getting the borders on Dawns Early Light! Boy, this one has been quite the process and I am looking towards a couple of smaller, easier projects when this is done.
Dawn's Early Light is still on my design wall, or floor, as it is too big for the wall. Progress is being made on the blue string blocks that will be the biggest part of the border. I am about half way there.
Just so I would not get too bored with this project, I am also working on the pumpkin table runner. Two more blocks complete and two more to go.
The table runner might be done first! Happy Sewing!
Back from our road trip to Winslow AZ, for DH birthday. Yes, we did get a picture "Standing on the Corner in Winslow AZ" from that famous song "Take it Easy" by Jackson Browne and Glen Frey. I think this is the only thing that Winslow is famous for. 😁
Of course a side trip to Holbrook, and a visit to PaintedDesert Quilts was in order. This meant a few adds to the stash this week. More reds and blues and some buttons below. Have used up a lot of blues for Dawns Early Light.

This week finds me working on the next set of blue string blocks for Dawns Early Light. This will be the last step and will finish off the borders.

I needed to start on a small project with a quick finish after all the work on Dawns Early Light, so pulled out this kit for a tablerunner purchased awhile back. Pattern is from the Witch's Night Out book, by Sew Emma. Here are the first 4 blocks, with hopes to get a few more complete inbetween the string blocks. Aren't these little pumpkins so cute?!

No finishes or adds in the last two weeks, just busy working away on Dawns Early Light. This has been a very labor intensive quilt with a lot of pieces and steps. So far I have the center and sashings on. I keep checking to make sure all the friendship stars are going the right way. 😅
Two more rows on sashing to go and then on to the string pieced border. Love how it is looking and just order a backing from Missouri Star Quilts called Constitution. Thought that would be fitting for this Red/White and Blue beauty.
Also finished last week are my September Blocks for Heart & Hand Applique group. October's blocks are picked out and ready to be prepped. This has been a fun monthly project and very portable.
