Design Wall Monday

 

The Desert is blooming! I took a hike on Granite Mountain yesterday and the blooms are starting to come out. The Mexican poppies are always the first and give a beautiful carpet to the desert floor. The next couple of weeks will be the peak of the wildflower bloom, but then the cactus will start showing their flowers.

This week along with prepping more appliue, I am tackling this beast of a quilt that was made in 2017. Yes, I am custom quilting this one. and like the results so far.

 Back from my trip to Sacramento and back to the quilting studio. This week I am working on prepping more applique blocks for my Dear Jane Retreat coming up in a couple of weeks  Above are blocks that are prepped so far.  I am also continuing to finish up the applique on Autumn Love. Hope this will be a finish soon 

Later this week I will be attending the Arizona Quilt Show. Looking forward to finally attending this show.

Design Wall Monday

Above are a sample of blocks completed for my Dear Hannah Quilt.

This quilt is in the same style as the Dear Jane Quilt, but has a lot more applique. I started these blocks a couple of years ago and will be getting back to working on them during the Dear Jane Cowgirl retreat in April. I have pulled out the completed ones, and will be pulling fabrics and prepping more of these blocks to take with me. I am using mostly Liberty of London fabrics that I have collected over the years.

Tomorrow at our guild meeting I will be giving a presentation on the Dear Jane Quilt and showing my Dear Jane that was published in the new edition of Dear Jane. It should be fun and informative.

I will be off later this week to join family to celebrate my Mom's 85th birthday. Looking forward to my trip. Busy week for me. How about you?

House Block

This week will be all about finishing up the prepping of the last Autumn Love block and getting the hand sewing done. I also hope to get my Vintage Valenting Month one block prepped. I will have a lot of hand sewing ahead of me and to take on my travels later this month.

Milk Can Block

I may even get started on adding sashing and sewing some of the blocks together for Autumn. This is also one of my UFO's that have not been called yet. Four UFO's are finished with more to go!

 We are starting to feel spring here in AZ, with temps finally climbing into the 70's. It had been a cold winter here, but at least we are not dealing with all the snow in other parts of the country. We did get a dusting on the local mountains last week. It sure was pretty.
