This mini quilt was made by Sandi over at Kwiltnkats and quilted by me. I quilted 3 of these, one for Sandi and one for her mom.

This week we will be getting ready to leave on a two week road trip starting on Oct 6.  I will be prepping the last of the Heart & Hand blocks to take with me to finish up.

More Wonky Wishes blocks completed this week at my Tuesday sewing group. 15 more blocks to go and then I will start on the string pieced sashing. 

I have also completed quilting 3 more charity quilts and will be working on the binding in the evenings while watching some of our favorite sports teams. These quilts will go to Arizona Quilts for Kids.

Not a finish, but four more blocks for my Heart and Hand quilt are prepped and ready to go. The top left one is done and the bottom left just needs a heart appliqued on. After these, there are 5 more blocks to do and then the quilt will be ready to put together.

Purchased this week, was a yard of this cute black halloween fabric. I will be using this to make some treat bags for my grandkids.

Design Wall

This week I am working on my next use up the 2.5" square quilt. This is Bonnie Hunters Wonky Wishes quilt pattern and it is a great one to use up all those 2.5" scraps you have lying around. There are also some neutral string pieced sashing in this one. I am sticking mostly to my brighter squares and hope to empty at least one of my bins.

September is flying by, already half way there. I am back from a wonderful trip to Sacramento, where I got to present Julian, my new great nephew, with his new quilt. The weather was great and my sister and I got out each morning to take her dog for a walk. We spent most of the time with Mom, taking her shopping and out to lunch and catching up with the rest of the family.

Finished was the Split nine patch quilt. This was super fun and easy to make and I love the results. I worked on these blocks at my tuesday sewing group for the past couple of months.

Nothing added to the stash this week.

This week I am working on the Hourglass blocks for the Heart and Hand Quilt. I had just enough of the background to make the nine more applique blocks needed and the hourglass blocks. Prepping will also happen for the applique blocks. I feel a finish in the near future.

Later this week I am off to visit family in Sacramento. Looking forward to my trip and will catch up when I return.
